Ending free TV licences for the over-75s is Johnson's first step to dismantling the BBC | Polly Toynbee

In the Polish election, the victor, President Andrzej Duda, seized control of the state broadcaster, TVP, for his onslaughts towards his liberal opponent, Rafal Trzaskowski. TVP ran relentless warnings that Trzaskowski would divert welfare money from Polish families to meet Jewish restitution claims. On its flagship news programme, 97% of items were overtly pro-Duda, while 87% were overtly negative to his challenger.

It was the BBC that decided to do it, against the agreement they made with the government. The BBC is dismantling itself quite effectively with decisions such as this, ending BBCFour, defunding local stations, plus its editorial, programming and salary policies.

TV licence? What's that?

. What pollytoynbee doesn’t clearly say: Free UK TV licences will be means tested. Those with a bigger pension will have to pay, poorer ones will get it free. But it takes a wider horizon than a week to understand this. „pensioners lose an average of £65 a week in credits“ .

The BBC needs to produce good programs people who pay the licence fee want to watch. Not the relentless pc crap. And they have destroyed The Archers, we want to listen to interesting programs, no issue drive rubbish.

One thing both right and left seem to agree on is that the BBC is biased.

Prolly Toynbee is such a liar. She knows full well the decision regarding who funds the over 75 tv licenses was made by a previous govt in 2015 and the BBC were given the money to fund this themselves in the settlement. I utterly despise this women.
