An Emmerdale actor has been fired from the programme over historical offensive tweets, ITV has confirmed. Shila Iqbal, who played Aiesha Richards, had only been made a series regular at the end of March.

This happened to a colleague of mine at work. Tweets he made back in 2010 that were deemed offensive led to him being dismissed from his job. He was actually a really nice bloke and it was such a shame.
Someone not white being racist!? But that's unpossible, isn't it? Your paper regularly tells me that only whites can be racist.. Say it ain't so! It must have been the result of living in such an oppressive and immoral European society that pushed her over the edge.
Beware your tweets will find you out. One day I’m going to get seriously sued by Piers Morgan for a tweet I made about him and a performer on BGT some years back.
