Brexit: Email slip-up reveals no-deal fishing patrol 'uncertainty'

the UK would become an independent coastal state and leave the Common Fisheries Policy, which is the EU's shared rules about how much fish countries can catch and where.Defra's internal email mentioned a number of media stories, including one being worked on by a freelance journalist for the Independent.

The note reads:"While our public position on this wider issue is already clear and widely communicated, in that post-Brexit we will be an independent coastal state with control of our waters, both policy and MoD have indicated we are not on an overly strong footing to get ahead of the potential claims that could arise from this story.

Bull crap its fake news to stop brexit whats the odds of this happening 😂 do they actually believe people would take this fake story

Accidentally sent to the BBC? You idiots. Because we all believe it was an accident.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣'mistakenly'🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

‘Accidentally’ emailed to the BBC, and, like true patriots you publish it - there’s public interest & there’s national interest.

Either the BBC is incredibly gullible or is willingly complicit in pushing someone else's agenda.

nelson will turn in his grave-looks like the senior service has a massive task at hand-tory cuts and stupidity are costing us dearly.

'Slip-up' my arse. Defra is full of Remainers straight out of university whose understanding of Civil Service Code is sketchy and their respect for impartiality non existent. theresavilliers needs to trust very few. BorisJohnson LeaveEUOfficial need to be aware.

Somebody’s for the chop I’m guessing

Maybe they'll reinvigorate UK manufacturing by building fishing protection vessels................ 🤔 YeahRight

“Email slip up”? “Inadvertently sent outside DEFRA”? Get real-this was a deliberate leak once again from Govt to media. Someone pressed a button to send it to someone at BBC who then used it. Find both and take action to address misconduct in office. Don’t treat public as idiots

Fisher folk set to see the rough end of the net in the event of no deal

'List of companies most exposed' ...aka big companies aka companies owned by their cronies and donors. And all the many small and medium sized companies will be left out high and dry because 3 job losses here and 4 there doesnt make the media

Haha dont worry you little UK asses about this, once Scotland goes and takes all its sea area with it,Englands territorial waters can be patrolled by peddle boats or them little dingeys you can buy out of seaside shops......

We are ready.

'Accidentally emailed to the bbc' ... If I had a pound for every time I've done that.

If they wish to fish our waters then they pay the price to do so. Or they simply buy our fish from us.

Sink the french

Everything is gonna be gravy, dont you worry 🙂

MrConnieS One of the first demands from the in any negotiation about future trade will be UK's de facto 100% accept of the CFP. It will get a new name, but make no mistake it will be the CFP. The EU27 market will effectively be closed for UK fish unless and until a deal is reached

“A 'divorce' deal - which sets out how the UK leaves - has not been agreed.” It most certainly has been agreed! Parliament rejected it three times!

What else do you expect from a bunch of MPs who are more concerned about throwing billions at people who hate us and their john Lewis accounts than actually doing the job they are very well paid to do.

Place your orders online

If only they had actually ordered the ships they promised Govan in 2014...

Britain 'may be unable to stop illegal EU fishing in no-deal Brexit'Experts warn the UK could be exposed to more terrorism, smuggling and conflicts over fish stocks in a no-deal scenario. Oh you Brexiteers are hilarious. Enjoy the shitshow that you enabled. By the way, we (the U.K.) sold our fishing rights - nothing to do with the EU - and Farage only turned up to one briefing in the EU Parliament about fishing. Probably too busy, right? farce Fine the EU for breaking the law. Dust off the old fleet . . .

‘Leverage’: Britain's vocabulary gap in the face of no-deal BrexitThis week, Britain was warned that a good trade deal with the US is unlikely as it has ‘no leverage’ – a usage coined by William Gladstone Of course we've got leverage.
