Eight people rescued after fire breaks out at flats in major emergency operation

The blaze broke out at a property on Middlefield at around 2.30am today . The fire spread to a flat block, the Manchester Evening News understands.

It has not been confirmed whether any of these were seriously injured. Crews used hose reels and a turntable ladder to make the area safe.
