A misconduct hearing today heard how eight Met police officers shared racist, misogynist and homophobic Whatsapp messages – including jokes about sexual assault.

Six of the officers – who were based in Bexley – have already left the force, but the Met is seeking the dismissal of the remaining two as they seek to rebuild trust following recent scandals.
