The legendary guitarist is most well known for being the co-founder of the rock group Van Halen, which enjoyed incredible success in the 1980s.
Eddie's wife Janie, 50, as well as his son Wolfgang, 29, and his Van Halen co-founder and brother Alex, 67, are said to have been by his side during his final moments at St Johns Hospital in Santa Monica. Sources told the publication that the radiation appeared to be keeping the cancer at bay, but it took a turn for the worse when it spread across other organs.
"My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss. I love you so much, Pop," he added.
