Eboney Cheshire: Girl, 13, died from ecstasy overdose in Rainhill, Merseyside

A 13-year-old girl died from an overdose of ecstasy after falling ill at home, police have revealed.

Eboney Cheshire collapsed at her home in Rainhill, Merseyside on 2 December and died the next day in hospital. Her death was initially treated as"unexplained" but a post-mortem examination has now confirmed she died of MDMA toxicity, Merseyside Police said.Eboney's mother Kerry Williams paid an emotional tribute following her death, describing her daughter as her"beautiful princess"."I am broken and can't think of a life without you," Ms Williams said.

The daily mail readers commenting on how a 13 year old takes drugs - need to open their eyes. It’s everywhere - experimentation is normal and unfortunately she died as a result. Stop condemning and start educating.

Everyone knows ecstasy will kill you if you have a reaction to it, it either agrees with you or it will kill you! The first time anyone pop’s that ecstasy pill in their mouth they must be willing to die....or don’t do it! This was a suicide....she rolled the dice and lost.

Taking drugs at 13, parents should be more vigilant about who there children mingle with.

Some of the comments, have a bit of compassion. She was just a kid, experimenting as most kids do. Ok, ecstasy is a bit out there but she’s paid for it with her life. Have contempt for the person who supplied it, not the kid that has died

Such a shame, it's happening all over the uk not just Liverpool. Limited access to leisure facilities, a lack of 'things to get involved with'. It boils down to funding cuts, going right back to infant age.

I feel for her relatives and friends at this dreadful time. The important question is not why she took it but where it came from, who supplied it and how do they pressure a 13 year old to try it in the first place.
