Athletes tell BBC Panorama about their experiences of eating disorders in UK sport.

Rebecca Quinlan dreamed of becoming a professional runner when she was growing up.

"As part of my course I had swimming lessons every week, so I had lost a lot of weight and it would have been visible to the swimming teacher seeing me in a swimming costume every single week, that I'd gone from virtually a normal weight to severely underweight but nothing was ever said." "It started out so innocently just trying to lose weight for me to achieve my dream of becoming a professional athlete… I feel sad now to think that my dream got taken over by the eating disorder."

She's a former Paralympian and has competed at an elite level in both cycling and rowing, winning gold in the 2008 and 2016 games.

hunger and starving kids isn't!!

Like everything it's balance, maintaining a year round supermodel/competition figure for men and women isn't healthy but neither is being obese. If they want to blame anything it's photoshopped magazines that promote it rather than the people in the photos.

Overall professional sports are very straining on the health of sportsmen. If you want to win against the top talent in the world it's a necessary evil.

Weight loss is good if its done correctly. If your training intensely for a good few hours a day then you need to pack in the calories to counteract and keep your body maintained.

Your weight in sport can play an important part in your specific event, for example Mo Farah and Paula Ratcliffe would never have made Olympic shot putters and Geoff Capes not a low 2hr Marathon runner, but it's all about how it's done

The c9ming famines will probably cure this. Don't worry. Be happy.
