Sean Dyche insists he’s no quitter – even if Everton’s off-the-field problems get worse – but admits his time in charge at Goodison Park has left him feeling “the most stretched” during his lifetime in football.
“I don’t mind telling you this is the most stretched I have felt as a person being here, professionally. You can’t find value in yourself if it is all easy and lovely. I’d take it, though!” “I choose to go again and the joy is when it pays you back to get to the end of a season and feel you have done your bit when it’s difficult. It has not been joyous. There was never a joyful feeling winning a game because we knew we had to win the next one because you never know what is around the corner, that’s hard to take.
Dyche maintains that despite all the pressures, he still feels fine within himself but reveals that with the League Managers Association looking after their members’ well-being, he will soon be going for his next check-up. The 52-year-old said: “The LMA are very supportive with wellness checks and I have got mine coming up.
