New rules that came into force on Monday mean people in receipt of the benefit, who currently work less than 18 hours per week, will have to look for further employment. The changes are part of the Conservative government's sweeping changes to the welfare system, with ministers raising the administrative earnings threshold from the equivalent of 15 hours to 18 hours at national living wage for an individual claimant.
"From today more working people on #UniversalCredit will receive additional help to increase their pay".
