This could have been so much worse

A driver walked away unharmed after their car flipped on its roof in a crash on a Nottinghamshire road. Emergency services were called to Park Lane in Selston at 1.49am on Monday, July 31.

A black Mercedes was found flipped on its roof amongst the trees. However, the driver had walked away from the vehicle by the time Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service had arrived. Ashfield Fire Station said it did not know how the crash happened. "During the early hours this morning firefighters from Ashfield Fire Station responded to an RTC Vehicle Make Safe in Kirkby in Ashfield," it said in a Facebook post."Luckily the driver walked away from this and had left the vehicle before we arrived. They were cared for by East Midlands Ambulance Service. We do not know why this happened are in no way suggesting it was due to one of the Fatal5.

Park Lane has previously been described as one of Nottinghamshire's most dangerous roads. Last year, almost 700 people signed a petition calling for improvements after a string of road traffic collisions.
