A woman discovered a "tiny scrap of a kitten" curled up by the engine of her car after driving more than 20 miles to get to work in Chorley.
"A dog walker came and I explained it to her and she was on her hands and knees looking but couldn't find anything and then some of the students came for the course- they too were looking for this cat crying but couldn't see anything and it was getting quite bewildering because it seemed like was just coming from the bushes at the front of the car.
"I felt very emotional to know that there was a cat somehow behind the back of my bonnet and we didn't know what to do. So Liz said she'll go and get the vet because there's a vets that is on Queens road and within a few minutes, the vet came with a nurse," Edwina said. The duo were winding up for the day, off to do their own thing for the evening but plans were put on hold when the call came in. And both knew they had to help get the female kitten to safety. "The kitten was a little skittish- when we did finally get hold of her did savage us quite well," She said.
Staff at Pinewood vets helped to get the kitten out of the engine and into the carrier where they could check her, vaccinate her and get her comfortable. Edwina says that the whole experience seemed bizarre and almost like a sign to her after recently losing her own cat which had to be put down last week.
