ASTONISHING footage shows theme park revellers being evacuated after being suspended 100ft in the air after the ride “broke down" today.
The vertigo-inducing video clip posted on Twitter shows terrified customers at Drayton Manor in Staffordshire being led off the giant Shockwave rollercoaster.A spokesperson for the theme park told The Sun Online that the incident today was “a standard evacuation” but would not confirm why the coaster carriage stopped.
One customer tweeted that the ride has "broke down" while complaing that other attractions were also out of action when he visited. He wrote: “Shocking day @Draytonmanor Shockwave broke down with first load on, Maelstrom off, Pirate Ship off, Air Race off, not got on a ride yet #awful.”
Must be a VERY slow news day if a routine evac off a ride is in the news.
