Two drag performers have criticised a Manchester bar and restaurant after they claimed they were refused entry because they were dressed in ‘fancy dress’ during Manchester Pride.
“A venue literally on the Manchester pride parade route who will be taking SO MUCH money from our communities and tourism today refused service to two queer artists. Trash. Boycott.” In a further tweet, Ginny added: "Also @RevsDeCuba why are you displaying the pride flag if you are going to discriminate against those people that flag is for??? SHAMEFUL PRIDE EXPLOITATION!!! GET IN THE BIN."

It is fancy dress - and that’s being kind. It’s actually an offensive, over-sexualised parody of women that’s just as bad a black-face.

Drag is fancy dress though. It’s not an attempt to pass in a sincere way, but an exaggerated take on women for entertainment.
