Fun, smart, scary and with just the right whiff of ham … Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss have served up a diabolic luxury

The story unfolds within two timeframes, the Now and the Then. In the Now, where we begin, a strangely deformed man is being interviewed in a nunnery by Sister Agatha who – and I’m calling it now – is quite the best nun of all time, and not just because she has no time at all for God. “Like many women my age I am trapped in a loveless marriage, maintaining appearances for the sake of a roof over my head,” she says briskly.

After 20 mins I almost ditched it, but so glad I stuck with it. Gripped now, especially by the end of the second episode. Great stuff! draculabbc

Bet the telegraph, Mail or Sun doesn't say this lol

Got bored halfway through... might be new, but too predictable.

I'm going to buy a few bunches of garlic and hang in the entrance hall

Love camp Dracula

It’s really great, a different Count to anything seen before and the writing is brilliant. And Jesus it’s Gory

Enjoyed the well-written and superbly acted first half where Sister Agatha was interviewing Jonathan Harker but lost interest as it turned into just another B-movie slasher pic. Dolly Wells was great in Can You Ever Forgive Me? (the last film I saw at an actual cinema)

Agree

Very very good -much better than that Christmas Carol shitfest

Utter shite yet again from the BBC. They should have just done a version which was faithful to the original book.

Is it time for a female Dracula of colour?!

it is good

Bloody good telly

Christopher Lee was the one. Nobody did it better.

Better then The War of the Worlds hopefully that was dreadful.

Tricky thing is if the guardian gives it 5* then it must be shite.

David Williams in the role of count was a bit weird?

BBC Dracula is truly outstanding. Clearly written by men that love vampire lore and infuse every twist and turn with glorious detail and passion! 100% satisfied 🧛🏻‍♂️

Can't wait to see it... will be sorely disappointed if not as entertaining as this article about it.

Bloody great. Great and bloody.

zzzzzz

Superb! A delightful cross between Monty Python and Michael Jackson's Thriller video...

It desperately wanted to be Lucifer. silly Dracula The meerkat accent was funny though. 🤓🤔

FAB-U-LOUS❤️🧄🧛🏼‍♂️

There is only one Count!

Dreadful !! Sounds like David Walliams what an odd Dracula not for me

Whos putting on the bite
