People who have the condition get pain or uncomfortable sensations in the area affected which gives them the intense urge to move that part of the body to relieve them of that feeling.
For the most part, mild restless legs syndrome that isn’t linked to an underlying health condition can often be managed with just a few lifestyle changes, things like avoiding caffeine, tobacco and alcohol in the evenings, not smoking, taking regular daily exercise, but avoiding exercising near bedtime and practising good sleep habits including trying not to nap during the day.
With the help of Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer, Neil Jones, Dr Xand demonstrated some useful stretches in the studio that people can try when confronted with symptoms of RLS.
