Some groups have spoken out against the change, saying a respected medical body's reputation has been damaged. Others called the decision"absurd".Nearly 7,000 doctors voted in the online poll:32% wanted the college to support a changeAnd the college has shifted to a neutral stance because neither side achieved a majority of 60%.
"We have been open from the start of this process that adopting a neutral position will mean that we can reflect the differing opinions among our membership. "This is why our view is clear, society should be doing everything in our power to prevent suicide, not assist it." The decision has infuriated and dismayed those opposed to the change, however, who argue that it is unreasonable to demand a supermajority in order to maintain the status quo.Of palliative medicine doctors, 80% voted to maintain the college's opposition to assisted dying.
Lights out folks if this is the way.
Good, a terminally ill patient should have the absolute right to die an assisted death if they are of sound mind.
Finally, great news 🙂
Why do we acquiesce when it comes to funerals and dying matters? The state should be doing this and cheaply too! funeral euthanasia Note to Parliament : Get it done! politics Joanna Lumley said what?
A positive step forward.
A neutral position is code for approving putting patients down like dogs.
What a surprise. But a dishonestly obtained change all the same:
Then doctors should be held responsible if medical advancements may find cure of that disease during life span of terminally ill patients.
Terminally-ill people shouldn't have to suffer against their will. It's time the UK allowed assisteddying. It's simple: If you don't want assisted dying, don't use it. But it should be there as a choice for those who DO want it.
They murder patients day in and day out, they did it to my mum even though she had it in writing that she wanted to have help. They call it the Liverpool care pathway but they are murdering healthy patients too by using morphine to kill them
Get on tha fence post and glue it
Dr Gordon McDonald I would assume hasn’t sat next to a terminally ill relative asking you why they can’t just die because they’re suffering so much then ... or if he has he clearly had very different feelings on it to me
beginning of The End

How about just say NO. Period.
