A 'distraction technique' was used by sneak thieves to steal a man's valuable Rolex watch in Manchester city centre, police have revealed.
Now Greater Manchester Police have released CCTV images capturing three men investigating officers say they want to speak with. Anyone recognising them is being urged to come forward. GMP said the man was targeted on Hardman Street near the Spinningfields district in the early hours after a night out in Manchester.It happened in mid-January, but details and the appeal have only just been released by the force.In a statement, GMP said: "Officers are appealing for information following reports of a theft from person on Hardman Street. Manchester, on 14 January 2024. At around 1.10am, a man and a woman left a bar, and shortly after were approached by three men.
"Police believe that a distraction technique was used on the victim before his Rolex watch was stolen. Three men then ran off in the opposite direction. "Officers would now like to speak to the three men pictured, as it is believed they could help detectives with their investigation.
