Newly digitised records make it possible for people with Irish roots to brew up discoveries such as whether Guinness runs in their family

This St Patrick's Day, why not see if Guinness is part of your family history? Thanks to newly digitised records, those with Irish roots can now explore their ancestors' links to Ireland's most famous brewery.

The digital records include details about the St James Gate Brewery's employees. You can find their home addresses, jobs, names and ages of household members, how much they earned, and even when they took time off, according to Dublin Live. Todd Goddfrey, vice president of global content at Ancestry, said: "We're thrilled to give people a chance to connect with a new part of their heritage and fill any gaps in their family trees. With the rich history of Guinness, digitising these records allows people to explore an entirely new side of their culture, no matter how much they currently know about their background.
