Dion Dublin finds Homes Under The Hammer home with 'absolutely huge' potential

On Homes under the Hammer, Dion Dublin was "excited" about the "absolutely huge" potential of a mould-ridden and rotting property in a desirable neighbourhoods. The popular presenter and former Premier League footballer visited the rundown three-bedroom detached house in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, on the hit BBC daytime show.

The back room had a flat roof which had rotted and caved in. Despite this, Dublin remained positive, stating: "A lot of work to be done," but "I'm getting a bit excited because the potential here - just on the ground floor - is absolutely huge," Upstairs, three good-sized bedrooms were found along with a separate bathroom and toilet, offering scope for a possible en-suite, reports Stoke on Trent Live.

Following an auction purchase of £221,000, it was indeed the home for Kate and her builder husband Simon, who had extensive experience in property development. Kate humorously said, "He's the builder, I'm the designer,". Reflecting on their ambitious plans, Dion shared his excitement, declaring to Kate, "I can't wait - it's going to be a beauty."The renovation of the home was taking form, despite an initial setback due to an underground sewer pipe interfering with the planned extension. The project moved forward after a deal was made with the water company, as viewers learned.

The transformation of the ground floor included the addition of a utility room and a downstairs toilet. This level just required plastering and decorating to finish the makeover.
