Diablo 4 world bosses are back but you'll have to wait before taking them on

The return of Diablo 4 world bosses was inevitable after being heavily featured in the previous server slam event, but you may have to wait a while before you can start taking them on again. Even though Ashava was made immediately available at certain points during the pre-release phase, Blizzard have apparently decided to make world boss encounters a rarer occurrence in the actual launch.

This time around, Ashava and the rest of the massively threatening world boss crew will only be appearing once you’ve completed the main story. Of course, this means you’ll have to go through the entirefirst in order to reach the end credits and the subsequent epilogue. Only then will you be able to face these kaiju-like beasts with other players.

However, you won’t be able to face world bosses any time you want as they’ll only be appearing at specific times, much like in the server slam event. Based on an article from, though, it seems that you’ll be getting a server-wide notification once one of them is set to appear so you won’t have to worry about missing it while you’re busy completing a mission or clearing a dungeon with friends.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a world boss calendar yet at the time of writing as the game is still currently in its early days. However, Blizzard and the rest of the brilliant Diablo development team will surely be making one available as soon as the game fully launches on June 6.
