The wing-back will undergo surgery early next month and it will likely be next year’s Allianz League campaign before he returns to full fitness

Derry's Pádraig McGrogan has confirmed that he has suffered a season-ending cruciate ligament injury. , meaning that he will also miss out on playing for his club, Newbridge, this year.

He was already carrying an unrelated foot injury into the Donegal game.

Derry resume their Championship campaign with a Group 1 All-Ireland series game against Galway at Pearse Stadium on Saturday week and McGrogan intends to stay in and around the group going forward.
