Demonstrators block Westminster Bridge in protest at new policing bill

was blocked today as part of a protest against violence against women and proposed new legislation that would give police more powers.

A bus was seen struggling to get through the crowds, as traffic apps warned drivers to find a different route.They then moved outside nearby Scotland Yard where they chanted ‘shame on you’ and ‘our streets’.It comes as MPs debate the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill in the House of Commons.

This is now the third day of protests, after a vigil held for Sarah Everard descended into chaos with police accused of heavy-handed tactics to break up the gathering.

These protesters are mainly young people soon to be criminalised by this horrible bill. These are the thoughtful young people that won't be professionals contributing to society when they leave college or university.
