Democrats and Republicans take aim at Pompeo over US troop withdrawal from Germany

The Trump administration’s decision to withdraw nearly 12,000 troops from Germany has come under bipartisan attack in the Senate, amid warnings it would disrupt US alliances.

This will show Germany that we shouldn't use our taxpayer money to protect them if Germany isn't going to pay their end of the deal. It was a very smart move to take out some of our troops from Germany, not to stop protecting transatlantic security.

Clearly we all missed that WWIII battle he didn't fight in.

We have to depend on The Guardian to know about so many important stories....what is the matter with our press? They seem mesmerized.

Germany is annoyed at the loss of income

Isn't this long overdue. I don't support the current US administration but fewer troops is a good thing.. Put the effort into intelligence.. boots on the ground is yesterdays solution to today's 'Red' threat.

At a time when Germany is struggling to fight Nazism in their own ranks again and Russia is threatening to overrun Eastern Europe removing our troops will be catastrophic for Germany

If the Germans didn’t charge top dollar for the privilege of American troops living there, they wouldn’t be moving to Poland. Also, Poland is probably more American these days than America is, thanks to a bunch of ignorant clueless “socialists.”
