National insurance is due to rise by 1.25 percentage points in April to fund the NHS and social care

Delaying a planned rise in national insurance would not do the government “any favours”, a cabinet minister said this morning as pressure grew to cancel it.

Except it's just the base rate that is going to rise by 1.25%. The actual cost to people of the rise in National Insurance contributions is going to be 10.4% (1.25/12) So that's a tax hike of over 10%.

Why doesn't the GOVUK get RishiSunak to a) ask Bank of England to increase money supply or b)Go after the billions of Covid claims fraud? The gap between rich and poor in Absurdistan grows ever wider.
