Boris Johnson has the “potential” for a “comeback” this year, Spectator editor Fraser Nelson tells cathynewman, but Ayesha Hazarika says the cost of living crisis will be a “really big challenge” for the prime minister.

He appears to have been weakened by a series of controversies, a bruising by-election defeat in North Shropshire and a huge rebellion from his own MPs over new Covid restrictions.

He also faces a more confident Labour leader currently enjoying the party’s largest poll lead for years. We discussed that with political commentators from left and right, Ayesha Hazarika and Fraser Nelson.

cathynewman £ 9433 a year pension that's what this government thinks is a fair pension for my working life.Tell me how do I live comfortable on that it's not possible. So Boris Johnson and co forget about foreign aid and get your priorities right.

cathynewman Well Sturgeons the worst leader ever.

cathynewman He doesn't know what he's doing and we're all fucked

cathynewman The more he tries to please back Benchers the more I go off him, he's failing regards the spread of COVID 19 he's obviously going for heard immunity now, I hope a lot of his backbenchers get the virus, they will be careful what they wish for in future

cathynewman It will take more than a haircut for him to have a comeback am sure

cathynewman vastly more potential for a setback given his track record imo

cathynewman Did you ask him if Allegra Stratton's got one too?

cathynewman How can a prime minister who's never arrived possibly make a come-back

cathynewman Well he has a lot of kids to look after

cathynewman You can’t be the cause of that many deaths and “come back”.

cathynewman For them it’s nothing more but a game. To suggest that a latter day ‘Nero’ like Boris be given another chance to continue tearing this country apart is quite sickening

cathynewman Just lost a viewer sorry to say…

cathynewman Think Brexit reality will bite and COVID lessen so it can’t be used as a diversion. That and ongoing highlighting of Tory corruption will make this a tough year for Johnson.

cathynewman Just wondering if Fraser believes in reincarnation.

cathynewman Putting a tie on properly is a challenge for this so called prime minister.

cathynewman yeah, cost of living rise will be tough for him, he's already said he can't cope on £150k...

cathynewman FraserNelson is really shite at reading the room then. How is he still in employment? spectator

cathynewman FFS why are you talking to Fraser Nelson To quote The Clash, ‘If Adolf Hitler flew in today, they’d send a limousine anyway’

cathynewman Sadly, I think this is true.People are fikle, have short memories and are constantly gaslit by bought murdoch style media. The very fact the country was actually persuaded that he was a serious politician evidences this. Labour are useless so yeh,a comeback is possible

cathynewman A bigger challenge for everyone else.

cathynewman Switched on at 7.00pm, Bozos on spouting his usual nonsense, switched off. Switched back on later and Frazer fooknut is on spouting his usual nonsense, switched off.

cathynewman Cathy please tell him we don't care about his opinions and drama on DePfeffel but he is welcome to write his musings down on a bit of paper and then roll it up and we can tell him what to do with it... Thanks 😁

cathynewman I'm so glad I turned over before this bit started.

cathynewman Translation: we've nothing better at the moment

cathynewman Unsurprising really to see Spectator charlatans shovelling on their shite As it was in the beginning So it is at the end

cathynewman TV shows need to work harder at booking guests so we hear less from these frauds.

cathynewman I wonder if Fraser Nelson will finally make a right call in 2022?

cathynewman Why are we talking about him like he's a band. He's a liar funneling our money to rich people.

cathynewman Fraser Nelson His opinion justifies a story Really? The man who is wrong on everything always

cathynewman BOLLOX WILL FLY

Energy crisis: Conservative MPs urge Boris Johnson to scrap taxes as bills rocketEnergy bills have soared as global wholesale prices have risen rapidly - but some Tory MPs and peers say they have increased more in the UK because of taxes the government has the power to remove. I doubt they have increased more than Ireland If BorisJohnson had any sense (which he doesn’t) he would stop the palming off of funds to his mates & future benefactors & do this. Not to do this WILL define his time as prime minister as he can’t hide all of the dead bodies as COVID cases anymore, cause you know vaccines 🤦🏻‍♂️
