, saying they have"no doubt at all" they were"treated in this way because we are not from this country".
In the Commons, Mr Gove admitted there are at least 2.3 million social homes that fail the decent homes standard"and that there are more homes proportionately in the private rented sector than the social rented sector that fail". "At the moment... the system has been too reliant on people fighting their own corner and we are determined to change that. So, the reforms that we're making will help to relieve the burden on tenants with an emboldened and more powerful regulator," he said.
Mr Gove said he has spoken briefly to the chief executive earlier this afternoon and"in the course of that conversation it became even more clear to me that there are systemic problems in the governance and leadership of that organisation".Mr Swarbick, the chief executive of RBH, said he is"truly devastated about Awaab's death and the things we got wrong".

So sad 😞 and unbelievable in 21 at century Britain 😡
Thank you for posting this. I have a family member facing a similar problem in public housing. She has been told it would take 1 month for someone to come and look at it. She has serious health problems and can't afford to stay elsewhere.
Many Social Housing Landlords like NHGhousing r holding on to monies received from Storm Eunice (Feb 22) Building Insurance payouts instead of putting it towards repairs Social Landlords masquerade as ‘charities’ 2 opt out of certain Govt housing reg.
Across the UK there are homes owned by councils, associations & private which have major problems, due to age, build or lack of care & all Politicians know this, yet nothing has been done. Suddenly msm have only woken up to this fact through the tragic death of a 2yr old.

Is there a chance that there are that many demands on housing that it’s impossible to fix things? This dream of helping all results in hurting many 🤔
and the problem is only gonna get worse this winter.... many council homes has bad mould issues
lewis_goodall But will it be? How many more children have to die? How many politicians are themselves landlords?
