The intention of genocide is to destroy the whole race. Was that the intention of Slavery? Slavery in ancient times could earn their freedom. They could be mutilated so they do not over produce so outnumber the slave owners. So I don't think slavery is intentionally genocide.

Was slavery about genocide? If Genocide is the destruction of a nation or an ethnic group that can be committed by any method or intention Then the aboloshing of white culture Or race through mass immigration Is an act of genocide. Something Hitler tried to do on Jews.

Starkey says it as he sees it... Some agree some don't...

Some people are hooked on practical utility and numbers... even that, more slaves died because of the inhuman conditions they were forced to live in than lived to serve some white owners for free.

Send a lynch mob..... free speech is no longer tolerated..

Doing an article about Starkey and his racist comments why don’t you do an article about his horrible sexist comments about women historians or does that not matter !!!

Dreadful

Dude is a joke

That’s like saying coronavirus is not aids or rape is not murder

what is the truth about African black slavery? which African tribe/kingdom conquered & enslaved other inferior African tribes/kingdoms which in turn sold slaves to Arab Muslim slave markets who than sold to EU,eastern countries and new world colonies? myth or facts?

Grotesque statements, to justify it is even worse.

Clearly it wasn't genocide although that doesn't mean it was a horrible existence with serious degradations including injury and death. No defence of what Starkey was saying though because it went from bad to worse.

Well he is right with all he said, PC woke don't want to hear reality, slavery wasn't genocide since selling, buying and owning a slave was a commodity for many people/countries. Why would a given society that had slaves go out kill everyone of them that earned money for many?

A well renowned historian, like the conversation regarding statues, David is a symbol of what’s wrong with the teaching of history.

Can’t say anything these day without someone getting offended

The ‘slavery was not genocide remark’ was fine. It was what he followed with which was problematic.

Bugger me. I didn't realise this so called historian was such a nobber. Oh well you live and learn. Bye,bye David.

Maybe you run an article about brittish genocide during the Boerwar

The story they tell themselves. Weird at best, sickening thought at worst.....

He said what now?!? Who would say such a thing?!? Who is this man?!!

I think he is right, slavery was not genocide ... it was worse.

Starkey colluded with Micheal Gove to set the new curriculum, from the Stone Age up to the 1688 Glorious Revolution, on to The Enlightenment, British Empire to the election of Thatcher. Black,Jew,Irish,Scots people written out of history. Curriculum overhaul, before September.

With darrengrimes_ nodding along approving 🤯

Slaves were considered property, seems a bit daft to deliberately kill them. So, not genocide, because not deliberate.

I used to like DS, but that all changed since I heard all this BS.

He should have been! It was an absolutely reprehensible thing to say in this day and age.

Brutal and bizarre: the story of how Wigan collapsed into administration | David ConnOn the day Au Yeung took ownership after a £41m purchase he decided not to fund the club, and an investigation is now due Surely yet again the EFL have done nothing what is the point of a fit and proper owners test if these total idiots end up in charge of football clubs just like bury fc the EFL are complicit in the demise of yet another club the EFL board should resign... The whole saga stinks to high heaven, i am at a loss to why the league approved the change of ownership? Where did the new buyer suddenly get the money to pay IEC? Did IEC loan them the money, and we're now stuck with the loan repayments? The whole thing screams fraud, but I bet it's very very legal...
