A daughter who blew £50,000 of her dementia-stricken father's savings that was supposed to pay his care home fees has died behind bars.

Carson was caged after resorting to buying scratch cards in a desperate bid to “win it back” and told a social worker she had spent all the money.He was moved to Rawyards Care Home in Airdrie, in October 2015 but funds to pay for his care couldn't be accessed until 2016 when Caron was appointed guardian.While Carson offered to pay £30,000 owed to the council, a system error meant the payment couldn't be processed.
Her dad's insurance company covered the fees due to the council after he died aged 87 in September 2018.
