Mari Huws, one of the island's wardens, took part in the certification process.
"Having secured the certification, we look forward to welcoming visitors here over the coming months and years and sharing with them our unique story. The new certification will be regularly reviewed by the International Dark Skies Association , and Ms Huws will have to take measurements when conditions are favourable and keep a record of them.
