Dancing On Ice\u2019s Dan Whiston defends Ekin-Su following viewer backlash

’s creative director Dan Whiston defended the routine, saying Ekin-Su"embodied it really well".

"It was completely inspired by the Britney Spears video, if you look at the 'Toxic' video and the outfit she wore, it's very similar. It was a tribute to Britney, that's where the inspiration came from and I think she carried it off really well," he said. "Not everybody is going to like everything, and the majority of people really liked Ekin-Su. She has a massive following, she's super hot, and my jaw hit the ground because she turned it on."He continued:"That week she was really poorly, she had to have a few days off because she was ill and she came back and gave it everything she had.", also shared the details on her illness.

"With the show, there's no time to be ill or injured, it's the nature of the beast. When she'd been poorly, she came back and she was determined to give it everything."I like her work ethic, she won't let it bring her down and she is really determined and quite inspirational. You have to be tough in this game. She's ready for the fight. You only get one chance and she's giving it everything.
