Cyclist struck by lorry in Bearsden as rush hour motorists urged to avoid the area

Emergency services descended on Bearsden this morning after a cyclist was involved in a collision with an HGV lorry.

Police and ambulance crew raced to the scene at around 8.15am this morning after reports of a collision involving a cyclist and HGV on Drymen Road.READ MORE: Body found in search for missing man Nick Fish as police called to Glasgow Boxhub venueMajor road closures are in place with drivers urged to avoid the area. Drymen Road is closed between South Erskine Park and Roman Road, and Manse Road is also closed between Drymen Road and Grange Road.

A statement issued by Police Scotland reads: "Road closures are in place following a collision involving a cyclist and a HGV on Drymen Road in the Bearsden area which happened around 8.15am."Manse Road is also closed between Drymen Road and Grange Road.We will bring you more on this ongoing incident as we get it.
