Covid: Record daily cases reported on Christmas Eve in Wales

Social distancing is being reintroduced in shops and workplaces as Covid numbers rise

The number of new cases of coronavirus recorded in a single day has reached a new record on Christmas Eve. Figures from Public Health Wales on Friday showed another 6,755 cases - a jump of more than 2,000 in 48 hours - and 10 deaths.PHW reported 1,177 cases of Omicron up to Wednesday but Delta remains the dominant variant in Wales.

BBC should report covid infection figures & display graphics with caution. Take London out of the England figures & Wales is as bad, take out the South East & Northern Ireland is as bad, Scotland is little different from Northern England but half as bad as the England average.
