No guarantees over Christmas lockdown for England, deputy PM Dominic Raab says

The government's scientific advisers say new restrictions may be required very soon - and have suggested reducing the size of groups that can meet and closing venues where there is a high risk of transmission.without intervention beyond current Plan B rules in England, hospital admissions could reach 3,000 a day.

"The safest thing is not to meet up before Christmas," he said - but if people do, they should take a lateral flow test. "We are in deep, deep trouble here of potentially talking ourselves into annual winter lockdowns," he says. "We need to tackle the spread of Omicron, support businesses and protect public services," he tweeted. "Boris Johnson is too weak to provide the leadership our country needs."

Leaving it a bit short f***ing notice

Not sure they dare. Sure if I was an MP I would find a less hostile environment to work in. Media seem to turn the heat up on the pressure cooker. Wonder who MP's will blame this time.

After being shamed & ostracised by colleagues, family & friends I took my 1st inoculation 8 weeks ago, today was planned as the 2nd. Yet, due to media hype & sheep overreactions for a 3rd the queue was 50 plus on a Monday at 10. Result = bugger that, no more jabs for me
