'With the latest announcement we won't be going' Latitude Festival ticket holder selling over safety fears as restrictions set to be eased

Latitude will be a government Covid-19 test event and it has a capacity for 40,000 people

On Monday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that most legal restrictions in England should be removed from 19 July. Ticket holders for the 40,000-capacity festival will be asked for proof of a negative lateral flow test or of double-vaccination. Mrs Read, who lives in Mendlesham in Suffolk and has cystic fibrosis, said they were "really looking forward to having a weekend of celebrating our anniversary and enjoying music and time together".

Is this news?

It’s a government test event and as such there’s no compulsory requirement to wear a face covering or social distance. When buying the ticket this would have been made clear in the conditions of sale. Lifting of restrictions on the 19th is irrelevant. Fearmongering by

Lol their loss

BBC “news” what about the other 39,999 people who are happy to take the risk and attend.

😂😂😂

It’s taken me about 15 mins to understand this sentence, it could have been worded slightly better BBC.

Actually starting to realise most people are being sensible and won't going mad from the 19th. It's a shame the government can't be as sensible.

Why did they buy their ticket in the first place? Sounds a bit moronic to me.

Good to see she is following Johnson’s advice and making a personal risk assessment. This is good news.

Wow, if you were worried about covid so much why buy a ticket in the first place? Completely irrational to think a mask protects you, and as transmission is almost impossible outdoors it is just more fear mongering

You can always stay at home and hide under the bed darling or in the wardrobe. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT MADNESS.

I think for everyone that feels unsafe another 10 will take there place
