Chief executive of AstraZeneca, Pascal Soriot, recently stated that giving booster jabs to everyone may put unnecessary pressure on the NHS this winter.

Covid immunity is ‘lasting well’ for most people who are double jabbed and a mass booster programme is not necessary, a top Oxford scientist said.ne of the leading figures in the development of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine – suggested extra shots should be directed to countries with a low rate of immunisation.said he expects a booster programme to start later in September, though he is still awaiting advice from experts on the scale of any campaign.

Pascal Soriot urged the government to wait until there was more data on immunity from people who have been double jabbed for six months.On Thursday, Mr Javid said, ‘we are heading towards our booster programme’ in England but he wanted the ‘final opinion of the JCVI’.
