Covid cases in the UK have collapsed to below 75,000, in a sign that the recent resurgence is over and comes the country prepares to enter the next phase of living with the virus.

Covid cases dropped below 75,000 today in signs that a recent resurgence of the virus in the UK has passed. The decline comes as England enters a new post-pandemic area with an end to free testing from tomorrow.

But Britons were urged to keep wearing masks, with the head of UKHSA warning Covid is still highly prevalent. While cases declined hospital admissions and deaths have grown week on week, going up by 12% and 16%

I wouldn't call 75k cases a 'collapse' !

Probably because with price rises eg: gas, electric, food a lot of people aren’t prepared to go and buy one of these tests especially if it means they can get a couple of loaves of bread instead to feed their kids

These figures don’t show the whole picture. The ONS survey does and was over 4 million last week.
