Are we following the government's stay-at-home message?

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has urged people to, "stay at home and reduce all social contact that is not absolutely necessary".What does the data show?

People are leaving their homes more than during the first days of the March lockdown, according to data from several sources. Apple and Google collect "mobility data", which is pulled together by recording the location histories on people's mobile devices. They then take that data and compare how different it is to a national "baseline" established in early 2020, before the pandemic started.lockdown one The Google data covers England, Scotland and Wales, while the Apple data also includes Northern Ireland.

It's worth noting that in both the Google and Apple reports, people appear to be moving around a lot less during lockdown three than in lockdown two in November. Separate data from the route-search app Citymapper shows about twice as many routes were planned in Birmingham, Manchester and London in early January 2021 compared with March 2020.It's important to note that increased levels of activity - compared with the first lockdown - don't necessarily mean more people are flouting the rules.

Some are others are not

Our old dog has issues, so I had her out before 6:30 this morning. We’re not remotely close to a conurbation so I was really surprised by the volume of traffic noise from road that runs through the village considering we’re supposed to be in lockdown

No because people need to earn a living and keep a roof over their heads. It was never going to work again. Nor should it. Complete load of rubbish and waste of time. You can't say lockdown and then allow certain groups to go out and about...that is not a lockdown, never was.

One look around you says it all: no. The government has lost all credibility.

There are a load of selfish fools ignoring advice / rules, clamp down on them! But also just occasionally acknowledge the millions who are obeying the rules and trying to help themselves and others. All that you hear is 'people aren't doing what they are told' well many are!

Only if I am not out😀😀😀😀

I've hardly left the house since March and when I have ventured out it's ONLY been for food or medical reasons. I'm hoping to reclaim my freedom sometime in the next 12 months!

Only - major food shops, newsagents, pharmacies, post office, Doctors should be open. Everything else closed for 2 weeks whilst we get as many people as possible vaccinated! Then we can re-open knowing people can go back to wrk/sch protected. People are out because stuff is open.

Just watching BBC news at ten. Is there any reason for the BBC political reporter to be standing outside with Westminster in the distance , reporting live , at 10pm in the evening? Surely this is not essential.

The BBC isn’t? Why is it necessary to send reporters and camera operators to do a piece to camera outside Westminster just to get Parliament in shot? 🤷‍♂️

Have done since March last year

Asking the majority of us who have followed the rules since March last year to stick to the rules now is insulting. Make those not following the rules, tow the line. Gov have failed to enforce it at a basic level.

WE are or l am. I wish others would.

I am. Haven't been out since October and I'm loving it. Had too much food at Christmas though as there was less people to share with 😳😂

John Lewis stopped click and collect today because they know it’s morally wrong to encourage people to leave home it’s about time other big corporations did the same!

Just about everybody is allowed to go to work still because the guvernement didn't want to foot the bill.. Cheap wins at the cost of peoples lives springs to mind 👍😡

My husband is being made to do non essential jobs in his ‘key worker’ role for the local council, going in and out of houses all day long when they are meant to be running an emergency service only...

Lets pick someone at random and ask them shall we?...... Nevermind

Yes I am and I’m getting really Pi**ed off with those who are not..!!! There’s still too much ‘me’ and not enough ‘us’

People clearly aren’t- went to walk around my home which back onto a park and had to walk from it as it was so busy - 30% were clearly with groups outside households.

No as things don’t build themselves

Please everybody sign! Nurseries are still open and staff at risk.

People at Covid 🤯 can I walk my dog... yes you can. Ok can I walk my dog twice a day... yes you can. Ok can I walk my dog 3 times a day. Yes if you need to. Ok can I walk my dogs 4 times a day. Yes if you have to. Ok, people at Covid. I wonder if I can walk my dog 5 times 😱🤦🏻‍♂️

No we are out reporting everything going sending people out to report the weather ffs

in short.....no.

The head of the English government isn’t even following the English government’s stay at home message.

No, people are taking the piss

Tweet ban me for Trump

Lol

not at all being made to work in non essential shop,

Obviously not if we've got people in Cardiff going to protests

Literally to the point it’s impossible to do better
