Ross and Sarah quit their jobs after tying the knot and set off on a two-year honeymoon – with their son and dog in tow
Now, back home, the parents realised they loved the trip so much that they plan to swap to van life permanently. ‘Our slogan became “every day is a Saturday” because we got married, quit work and rented out our cottage to spend quality time as a family by enjoying every day like it’s a Saturday. They were able to afford the adventure simply by renting out their cottage. Their income of £800 a month covers all their outgoings, including their phone bill, van insurance, vehicle tax, fuel for the van, food, ice cream, beer, wine, washing and the occasional AirBnB.As you’d imagine, their version of lockdown was pretty dreamy.‘It’s the best thing we’ve ever done, especially with the pandemic,’ said Sarah.
