A replacement for the "grossly unfair" council tax system should be agreed upon before the next Holyrood election in 2026, a Green MSP has insisted.
But Greer told the Record he was optimistic a replacement could still be agreed upon in the coming years. "There is an agreement to take forward a process to reform and replace council tax and local taxation more generally," he added. "We won't have a new system working before the next election - but we are aiming to reach agreement on what we replace council tax with.The Scottish Greens are in favour of a replacement system that focuses more on taxing wealth than income.

I assume Ross also wants to ensure MSPs can’t put theirs through their expenses. Better still why don’t we put MSPs on the living wage rate considering the size of their expenses?
