Council big-wigs who think they know better than locals grind my gears

Then there's the new roundabout at the Fernhurst pub connecting the A666 with the Oakdale housing development. If you've been unfortunate enough to be travelling towards Blackburn when Rovers are at home you'll have noticed the highways team at the roundabout who are tasked with inexplicably stopping all traffic heading in that direction while those going the other way are allowed to continue.

At the time, a spokesperson for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council said the highways team stated "the sensors have been placed where they will be the most effective, for most of the time". The spokesperson added: "Unfortunately, there will be times that the sensors are not triggered, which is unavoidable due to parked vehicles."
