The government has delayed plans to crackdown on unhealthy food promotions for a year

However, Public Health Minister Maggie Throup said:"We're committed to doing everything we can to help people live healthier lives.

But Barbara Crowther, of the Children's Food Campaign, said the government should not be"delaying and dithering" but should move faster on Bogof deals. "This delay threatens the UK target to halve childhood obesity by 2030. Boris is playing politics with our children's health." "Instead of cutting childhood obesity, preventing ill-health and easing pressure on the NHS, this chaotic government is performing another U-turn."However the"pragmatism" of the government's action was welcomed by industry body the Food and Drink Federation .

BOGOF is not an issue. They are only put in place to increase volume of sales. Stop being tyrants and telling people what to eat, drink, think etc etc. Freedom of choice.

Live cheaply and die young ; very effective Government intervention to address cost of living crisis

Let them eat cake

When we struggle to afford food the food police want to make food more expensive 😐

It’s down to the parents to give children a balanced diet, advertising after 9pm won’t solve that. Plus if people are buying unhealthy food because of offers and can’t afford to buy healthy food, they still aren’t going to afford healthy food anyway regardless.

Government telling us what to do again what happened to democracy more like dictatorship

More fat kids then...

Good. Why should the fatties ruin it for everyone else?
