An unregulated world can be blamed for its spread, but collective action based on evidence could be the best way to stop it

In 2008, the world successfully pulled together – with Britain playing a catalytic role – when faced with the threat of financial collapse. In 2020, confronted with the threat of a global pandemic, it is every country for itself. There has been no international health summit of national leaders supported by the World Health Organization – although the World Bank has announced a $12bn package of assistance.

Globalisation is the scourge of the developing world. A means to spread western values particularly English to keep a market stranglehold while obliterating other languages.

Most probably another inane article by Hutton that does nothing more than pay his rent. Should have retired years ago.

Globalization with one country - China.

Maybe, or maybe not. Another silly article about something no one has any clue about it's affects

I hope so. We can’t plough on with the isolationist policies of Brexit after this. If we learn one thing from coronavirus it has to be that we are all, the world over, only has healthy and prosperous as each other. A common enemy has the power to unite us.

Where can I report this behaviour?

Centrists cannot wait to spread their banalities about what is good for us all, while people are dying and mourning their loss. Moreover, beginning with the model of how the world bailed out the bankers is simply perverse...

Globalization has been around as long as humans civilization - the Roman Empire, The Silk Road, Ottoman Empire - they were just earlier versions. It will continue evolving - hopefully more informed based on evidence.

Globalisation meant the production of everything from essential medicines to electronics was shipped off to China while the doors were opened in the West for all the cheap labour it could ever want & all so that the ruling class could get even richer at the expense of the rest.

Erm no it wont

Please kindly be informed that you can not end something which has already been ended. Do not forget what Donal Trump said about globalisation and patriotism last year at a big summit. Globalisation(had been thought, prepared and started by US in 90's) is over.

Exactly. Why all the negativity about Coronavirus? Evidence suggests people at the older age of the spectrum are the most vulnerable. The climate change sceptics, anti-EU, right wing gammon & racists are most at risk. In retrospect we may view the pandemic as the Coronacure.

Maybe UBI is a good idea 🤔 covid19UK

This is bullshit even by Guardian standards.

Maybe. Unless we forget about it, as we did with all other pandemics.
