and after listening to Money Box on BBC earlier today it appears that some businesses are taking the furlough payments and NOT paying it to their staff - a sort of grant! Businesses support the Tories and now we can see why

Raid the offshore accounts, there are Trillions stashed away that should have been taxed.

Absolute bargain. Nice to see taxpayer's money being spent to help taxpayers. Weird eh?

The way this is phrased hit me all wrong 🙄

Who cares, Nandos is re-opening and we have 350 million pounds a week spare, sunlit uplands here we come.

Trident, bank bail, Amazon or Starbucks' unpaid tax. Money left over for DomCum's eye test. Next?

This brainwashing 🧽 so our money going bk to us to help us (UK Population) out...

How much less is that of an outgoing than in the banking crisis

Think of all that extra money from brexit we were promised or has it all been spent on specs savers franchises

Conservatives response to this was weak, slow and failed miserably costing thousands of lives.

Maybe start making big corps start paying their taxes and stop off shore tax avoidance. Hmmmm thought not 🤬

So it's about as much as Crossrail then?

Subsidies that are only needed because the government is preventing people from working and the economic damage is much greater. Never mind how much of a joke the reopening plan is.

How much has been 'spaffed up the wall', to use the PM's charming phrase, on HS2 (so far)?

Still only a blimp out of the government's savings.

Or you could send them back to work, and see a huge spike in infection and death. Your choice.

HS2 costing £109 billion (at present)

The cost of not propping up the economy—which is not the same as a household budget—will be far worse. This is the scale of WW II and it’s the right time to use time to stabilize things.

Bank bail - 500bn Trident - 200bn The wages of the population, which people rely on, is much higher on the priority list.. no?

Trident costing UK treasury £205bn.

Cheap at the price.

Cost to bail out the banks, £500b
