A police chief tells Sky News: 'If you have to ask yourself 'is this an essential journey' then it probably isn't.'

He warned if people were allowed to sit and have barbecues in parks - even if with members of their own house and observing social distancing - then it would quickly turn into"any other normal bank holiday weekend where the parks are packed full of people wanting to enjoy the sunshine".

"We are not in a normal bank holiday weekend, and it’s about trying to encourage and support the public," Mr Apter added.Coronavirus UK tracker: How many cases are in your area – updated daily "But my fear is that if people continue to ignore this guidance, these rules that have been laid before parliament, then the government could go further. Nobody wants that."

Stephen Powis, medical director of NHS England, reiterated the point - telling Sky News that"just because the sun is out doesn’t mean we should be out". He urged people to stay at home so the country can"lock down the benefits of the lockdown" and stop more deaths."We’re hopeful we’re beginning to see a plateau. But we need to keep complying with the instructions - that’s the way that plateau will then translate into a drop," he explained.

Why do you find it acceptable to send a 'correspondent' in his nice crisp white shirt (clearly not exercising) to a park to make a video? He's not performing 'essential work' and is obviously flouting government guidelines. StayHomeSaveLives

Best way to put this, all you idiots who are out, catch it,and die,but font pass it on.

People will continue to gather because they know all that’s gonna happen is that they will be asked to move. It’s not a deterrent.

If walking out the door gave you raging acne, you'd stay in. Walking out the door means sharing breath with other people potentially spreading risk of death. That's a shed load worse that acne.

It’s about time the Police got stricter with the idiots who aren’t complying with the lockdown

But Britain's are not listening are they, look around the country.they are all spreading this shit, without a care in the world, who the f**k do they all think they are.

Explain how I’m suppos to get me 30 pack Carling wen Tesco dunt deliver for anova 4 weeks then ? Ur lefty lunacy won’t stop me and big Keith going down offy

You've never said...

This is an M & S Bank Holiday.

Have you totally forgotten/disregarded everyone that’s still at work? There are thousands still at work in non-essential roles; Factories, warehouses, etc. still remain open. Because business’ place their survival above that of their employees survival!
