So mass gatherings are 'allowed' in London and other cities but gathering for Mass is still frowned upon? Something a bit skewed there in the thinking of the powers-that-be.

The jig is up. Mayors who want to arrest people for going outside have joined masses of 'protesters'. Amazing how fast social distancing was canceled for right photo op.
If they take some placards and chant slogans such as fcuk the police they'll be fine
Tbh, for most C of E services, social distancing could be maintained without any detriment to the size of congregation
With the so-called Covid19 & the attendant Lockdown, it is obvious that the Covid19CompliantChurches & govt-friendly churches would emerge. In the end God will use the situation to purge His Church and then the fake will be seen for what it is. More difficult days are ahead.
