Coronavirus: Hundreds of British passengers stranded on cruise ship where four people have died

The cruise ship has been at sea since 14 March after Chile refused permission for it to dock.On Friday night, coronavirus testing kits were brought onto the ship from the MS Rotterdam, another vessel operated by Holland America.

She added there are not enough kits for all of the 1,243 holidaymakers and 586 crew members on board. Holland America Line has said the MS Zaandam was then scheduled to head to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after passing through the Panama Canal, and could arrive there on 30 March.

These ppl who are on the ship were fully aware of the virus before they depart on the 14 March. The government is under enough pressure just stay put until the cruise reach its final destination.

We booked an Easter holiday to Mauritius ITCTravel and some two weeks ago we requested a refund as our holiday was obviously cancelled. They first advised us that they were refunding us and some two weeks later they now advising that they need to “formulate an approach.”

Cut a long story. Dutch cruise ship 4 older people died. Passengers with NO or mild symptoms transferred to a 'clean' ship for continued quarantine. On lockdown like the rest of us but albeit not home. Some cruises ppl save up all their money 4 months on a cruise. Stayputstaysafe
