Coronavirus could spark the 'deepest economic recession of our lifetimes' with global trade down by a third in 2020, WTO warns

World trade is expected to plummet up to a third, the WTO in Geneva said today. There were a range of ways trade could be hit by the crisis, they added. WTO chief Roberto Azevedo warned we could be facing the 'deepest economic recession of our lifetimes' in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.
