HOPES are rising that Britons might be able to head off overseas this summer as Matt Hancock suggested that the Government is considering relaxing border quarantine rules.

The Health Secretary said he was growing more optimistic about the prospect of holidays abroad. But he added:"Clearly the number one priority is keeping the public safe.” The Government is considering introducing"air bridges" to low-risk sunshine countries so tourists can skip 14 days of self-quarantine when they return to the UK. Home Secretary Priti Patel is expected to set out the controversial quarantine scheme today - amid calls for it to be scrapped within weeks.

Coronavirus: Ministers defend quarantine saying 'we will all suffer if we get this wrong'Despite growing unrest over the plans, the ministers say they are needed to get the tourism industry 'up and running faster'. How out of date can you be? The marches (which only a week ago were irresponsible & dangerous & potentially killing people) have now cured Covid-19 Not the anti-lockdown march of last week where people were arrested, of course: only virtue-signalling marches cure viruses 🤡🌍 It would be interesting to see a timeline story on the progression of C19 air travel restrictions, I sense it will show carriers and other nations acted way before UK government The state of the Westminster Tory government becomes more ridiculous every day. They've done absolutely nothing thus far to quarantine people coming from other countries, aren't due to start til Monday and are *already* talking about 'easing' those measures. Farcical.
