POLICE in the UK have wrongly detained a man they believed to be a French aristocrat suspected of murdering his wife and four kids.
Fingerprints initially proved to be a partial match but a DNA test later confirmed the man detained isn't Dupont de Ligonnès. Police believe he may have undergone plastic surgery in a bid to evade justice and it was also thought he may have remarried and begun a new life in Scotland under a new identity.
Detectives who visited initially found a severed leg under the garden terrace, and then uncovered the bodies of those who had been killed.French Police stand guard in front of the Dupont de Ligonnes family house in Nantes, western France, where the bodies were discoveredXavier de Ligonnès was last seen after being captured by a CCTV camera in April 2011In confiscated emails he said that he considered himself to be part of a Roman Catholic elite which was superior to ‘the masses’.
An extensive search was carried out in the area between April and June 2011 and – acting on new information – police resumed it last year, but found nothing. However, prosecutors had never ruled out the possibility that De Ligonnès was living rough, or being hidden by members of his extended family, who own country homes around France.
The next Corrie storyline to be sure.

Made a big mistake
The finger print match was bogus, that’s why they are doing a “internal investigation” wonder how many other people they’ve actually charged or got convictions with that offices “finger print reader” because “they” decided they had the right guy..
It is NOT XavierDupontdeLigonnes
A big mistake
We can all agree that being a 'French aristocrat' is good enough reason to arrest somebody.
